Your 1 day full day game drive to explore the Akagera National Park which is located in Eastern Rwanda on the border with Tanzania will give you a great experience to explore this only savanna national park where safari game drive can only be carried in Rwanda. Akagera national park is known for harboring the big 5 with the recent introduction of the lions. Akagera national park is a the only Savannah park in Rwanda and is home to several mammal species including Lions, Elephants, Giraffes, Hippos, Kobs, Zebras, Bushbucks, Waterbucks and most recently Black Rhinos have been introduces from South Africa, making Akagera national park officially a big 5 park like it was many years ago. Besides big 5, there is a lot to see on your visit to Akagera, including numerous bird species, for the bird lovers.

Itinerary

5:00 am

Today early morning after having your breakfast at your hotel, you will be picked by your safari driver guide at about 5 am from your lodge in Kigali and head for a day trip to Akagera national park, which is about 2.3 hours away from Kigali.

7:30 am

Akagera national park is majorly a Savannah Park with Elephants, Zebras, Giraffes, Buffaloes, Waterbucks, Topi’s and recently introduced Lions. We shall take a game drive in search of these wildlife and numerous bird species. The game drive can last about 5 - 6 hours depending on the animal sightings and interest.

2:00PM

Have lunch a picnic lunch in case you packed before your last game drive in the northern part of the park, for more sighting of number of wildlife, before you find your way out of the park exit in the north, arriving in Kigali later that evening, and dropped off at your place of convenience at hotel, or airport. End of service!
